Tomas Ronse - Bio

This is the place where, on an artist’s website, you would read about Tomas Ronse’s education, see lists of his awards, of his exhibitions, of press articles about him. I decided to skip all this. I have no awards, the few articles about me are not that interesting and a list of my shows would look paltry compared to those of most other artists. It would convince nobody of the quality of my art.

 

Not very professional, you might say, and you would be right. I am an amateur. The term has come to mean someone for whom art is merely a hobby, but its original meaning, in latin, is someone who does it out of love, no other motive. I express myself in writing as well as in art. The former has been my bread and butter, the latter my escape. I have not pursued an art career. But I have been making art since I was a kid and will probably do so until I die. I have followed my own way, developed my own techniques, my own themes. What my art means for others, is not for me to say. But I want to be less reclusive and this website,who knows, might help.
